CRVA CONCESSIONS CHARLOTTE NC

The CRVA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that operates the Convention Center, the Civic Center, and the Uptown Theater. The majority of their funding comes from two sources: rent from the city-owned Charlotte Coliseum and arenas, and a food and beverage tax (with a few smaller sources as well). In order to help fund capital improvements and operate these facilities, the CRVA charges a 20% fee on all concessions sold at events. For example, if you buy a $10 beer at an event, $2 of that goes to the CRVA. This helps to cover the costs of running the facilities and also goes towards capital improvements (like the recent renovations to Bojangles Coliseum).
