What is CRVA CONCESSIONS CHARLOTTE NC

The CRVA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that operates the Convention Center, the Civic Center, and the Uptown Theater. The majority of their funding comes from two sources: rent from the city-owned Charlotte Coliseum and arenas, and a food and beverage tax (with a few smaller sources as well). In order to help fund capital improvements and operate these facilities, the CRVA charges a 20% fee on all concessions sold at events. For example, if you buy a $10 beer at an event, $2 of that goes to the CRVA. This helps to cover the costs of running the facilities and also goes towards capital improvements (like the recent renovations to Bojangles Coliseum). While some people may not like this fee, it is an essential part of keeping these important Charlotte landmarks up and running. Thank you for your question!
