The default charge for an adjudicative proceeding is $50. The adjudicative proceeding charge is assessed by the clerk when the pleadings are filed and is payable by the initiating party. The purpose of the adjudicative proceeding charge is to ensure that parties do not abuse the adjudicative process by commencing frivolous or bad faith proceedings. If a party commences an adjudicative proceeding and prevails, that party may seek reimbursement of the charge from the losing party pursuant to Rule 11 of the Rules of Adjudicative Procedure.
