The Parsow House is named after its owner, August Parsow, and is located at 3400 Washington Boulevard in Arlington, Virginia. The Parsow House was built in 1892 and is one of the oldest houses in Arlington.August Parsow was a German immigrant who came to the United States in 1885. He settled in Arlington, Virginia, and began work as a carpenter. In 1892, he built the Parsow House. The house was originally intended to be a boarding house for German immigrants. However, Mr. Parsow only rented out two rooms in the house and lived there with his wife and family. TheParserows were the only occupants of the house until Mr. Parsow's death in 1934. After Mrs. Parsow's death in 1936, the house was sold to new owners who operated it as a bed and breakfast inn. The Parsow House has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1999. The listing includes the house and its outbuildings, which include a summer kitchen, a carriage house, and a smokehouse.
