If you use PayPal to send or receive payments, you may have noticed a recent charge from "BEPACO" on your statement. This charge is actually a fee that PayPal assesses on certain transactions. The BEPACO fee is assessed on transactions that involve currency conversion, and it is used to cover the costs associated with processing the transaction. Currently, the fee is set at 2.5% of the transaction amount. For example, if you send a payment in U.S. dollars to someone in France, PayPal will assess a BEPACO fee of 2.5% of the transaction amount. The fee will be displayed as a separate line item on your PayPal statement.
